报告摘要:This talk has two parts. In the first part I will provide an overview on some of the security and privacy challenges in blockchain, with a focus on transaction untraceability. In the second part I will talk about our latest work on how to understand and analyse transaction untraceability from a different perspective.
报告人简介:Dr. Jiangshan Yu is an assistant professor at Faculty of Information Technology, Monash Unviersity, Australia, and an honorary research fellow in the Centre for Cyber Security and Privacy, University of Birmingham, UK, where he received his PhD degree. He was a finalist of the prestigious Royal Academy of Engineering (RAEng) Enterprise Fellow, UK, in 2015, and received Chinese Government Award for Outstanding PhD Scholar Abroad (Success rate: 1% worldwide, 3% in UK).
His research on blockchain consensus, called RepuCoin (IEEE Trans. on Computers’ 19), provides the first blockchain system that is able to tolerate the 51% attack. This work has been covered by over 60 news media globally including Finder, ZDNet, 今日头条(Toutiao), 搜狐(Sohu), BTC Wires, ScienceDaily, Ethereum World News, EurekAlert!, The US Breaking news, Homeland Security Today, etc.
His research on ledger-based applications in secure messaging (IEEE TIFS’ 18, patent pending) provides the first messaging system that can detect the compromise of decryption keys. This work has been covered by more than 40 international and national news media including Science
Daily, Phys.org, ACM TechNews, EurekAlert, Futurism, and Silicon Republic. The news has been released in more than 7 languages by media from more than 10 countries including UK, US, Germany, Ireland, Luxembourg, Turkey, Spain, and India. This application has been further developed by a University of Birmingham spin-off, and have attracted funding support from Innovate UK.
